The Renault S.A. is a famous automobile manufacturer from France. The headquarters of the company are located at Boulogne-Billancourt in France. It was founded by a group of five people including Louis Renault, Fernard Renault, Marcel Renault, Julian Wyer and Thomas Evert in the year 1899. But, the main founder was Louis Renault, who died in 1944 during the Second World War imprisonment and soon the Renault Company was also in danger. During both world wars, the company suffered a lot in terms of production as well as sales. Presently, the Renault is considered as the fourth largest company as an automaker, and the cars as well as other vehicles from the company are sold worldwide across 118 countries. In 2008, the Renault had incurred a whopping 571 million pound profit margin. The Renault Clio car model is considered as the best selling car model of the company. The very first offer from the Renault was the sedan car. In 1961, the Renault 4 model was offered, which was a huge competitor for its age cars due to its security technologies and new designed engine. The first car of the company was launched in 1898 and the model name was Renault Voiturette. It was a tiny model and was liked by the people. The Renault Company also produced the racing cars and its first racing car was participated in the road race in Switzerland. The Renault cars were designed initially with 8 different style body looks with the total 7 models and offered more than 45 thousand cars in 1928. In the same year the Renault Stella model was a huge hit due to its compact size and economical price. The Renault Fregate model was continuously produced by the company for a long 10 years duration starting from the year 1951. Though the car was large size with 4-cylinder with 2 L engine, the selling of the model was not worry for the Renault. The 4CV model also won certain races such as Monte Carlo rally, Mille Miglia and Le Mans 24 hours was also not behind in comparison to the other sports cars of that time. The company had offered the cars such as –Renault Rambler in 1965, Renault 15 in 1974, Renault 5 Alpine, Renault 4, 9, 11, 14, 21, Megane ll, 5 Turbo, Espace, Twingo, Slovenia, Safrane, R25 etc. the Renault cars have been awarded with the European Car of the Year for its Clio in 1990, Renault 9 model in 1981, Scenic in 1996 and the Clio lll in 2005.
