The Peugeot is a famous car brand from the French automaker Peugeot S.A, which is considered as the second highest car making and selling company in Europe. The headquarters of the company are located at the Sochaux in France. The company was founded in the year 1882, and progressed steadily. Looking at their revenues off-late, in the year 2005, the company had incurred revenues of over 56.3 billion pound. Initially, the Peugeot cars were clumsier and sophisticated with the sliding gear transmission and 3-point suspension system. About just 29 cars were offered in 1892 and gradually the production of this company increased. The Peugeot is known as the first car with the fit rubber tires and soon replaced the Michelin pneumatic tires. In 1901, Peugeot offered its small shaft driven 652cc cars with the 5 hp power one cylinder car. The Salon model from Peugeot was equipped with the six cylinders with the 1149 cc engine. Some redesigned and advanced engine models were soon replaced the traditional model of the Peugeot. Certain few models are such as- Peugeot 202, Peugeot 302 and Peugeot 402. The headlights of the car were well modified and were kept behind the grill bars. The 202 model was considered as the second best in its selling and hit the market up to late 1940s. The Peugeot 203 came to market in 1947 with the features of hydraulic brakes, rack and pinion steering and the coiled springs. The offer of this model continued till 1960. The company introduced another model Peugeot 403 with the equipment of 1.5 L engine. However, the Peugeot was sold in USA from 1958. A new model called Peugeot 404 hit the American market initially. The Peugeot 205 was introduced in the year 1983 and was a major boost for the financial condition of the company as it had suffered the economical crisis in the 1980s. Due to the failure of large selling of the cars in USA and Canada, the Peugeot launched its new advanced model Peugeot 505. Recently, the company has developed 2-door cabriolet, diesel hybrid engine car, Peugeot 307. The low fuel consumption of the car is an advantage for the buyers. The Peugeot car models have won the prestigious European Car of the Year several times for the models 504, 405 and 307. The Peugeot 505, 406, 205 and 206 had also been put in the second or third highest rank in selling of the models. They’ve also launched the Peugeot RC HY motion 4 model as the latest model.
