Lamborghini is an infamous manufacturer of sports cars of Italian origin. The company is located in a small town in Italy named as Sant’Agata Bolognese near Bologna. In 1963, the company was founded by a businessman named Ferruccio Lamborghini. By the time he started the he found the company he had a tractor factory which was running successfully. The name of that tractor factory is Lamborghini Tattori. In 1998 a car manufacturer from Germany named Audi AG made the company as its subsidiary. Audi is a subsidiary of Volkswagen and Volkswagen is a subsidiary of Porsche Company. When he went to meet Enzo Ferrari to complain about the clutch of his Ferrari car he got a negative answer that the problem is with the driver but not with the car. Disappointed Lamborghini after coming home noticed that the transmission which is used in Ferrari is same as the one which he normally uses for his tractors. He felt happy by the discovery and he called upon Gian Paolo Dallara, Giotto Bizzarrini, Franco Scaglione and Bob Wallace. As a result of this, the GTV model came out. In the same year, Lamborghini released a new car 350GT. After sometime, the company released 400 GT. Profits generated from the cars 350GT and 400GT helped the company to produce their first sports car named Lamborghini Miura. The body of the new car Miura was self introduced by Lamborghini at the Turin Motor Show during the month of November in 1965. In less than a year, the styling of the car was done by Marcello Gandini. The wholly completed car was displayed at the Geneva Motor Show in the month of March in 1966. In 1967, 111 Miura cars were sold, while a total of 761 cars were built. In 1971, Lamborghini produced the LP500 Countach. The term Countach is the word used in surprise by Nuccio bertone by seeing the car. Three years later, the production of the car LP400 Countach was done. It is the first model in which scissors doors were used. The engine of the Countach has the capacity of 4-litre same as Miura. Due to Oil Crisis in 1970s, sales of high performance cars had gone down. Lamborghini declared bankruptcy in the year 1978. In 1984 Mimran brothers from Switzerland bought Lamborghini, and then later on, in the year 1987 Chrysler Corporation took over Lamborghini. Lee Lacocca was the chairman of Chrysler Corporation when Lamborghini was bought by Chrysler Corporation.
