Chrysler LLC Founded on June 6, 1925, Chrysler LLC is a well-known American automobile manufacturing brand. It was founded by Mr Walter P. Chrysler, and is currently headquartered at Auburn Hills, Michigan, USA. The Key people involved in the business activities of the company include the Chairman & CEO Robert Nardelli, Vice Chairman and President Thomas W. LaSorda, and Jim Press respectively. The company produces light trucks automobiles, as well as vans. Currently Cerberus Capital Management owns the company with 80.1% shares, while Daimler AG has the remaining 19.9%, and this was an outcome of a major deal finalized on August 3, 2007, through which, DaimlerChrysler AG sold 80.1% shares of Chrysler Group. They were sold to Cerberus Capital Management – the American private equity firm. Prior to this deal, it was known as the Chrysler Group in U.S and DaimlerChrysler Motors Company LLC as per the official records. There are about 58,000 Employees, as per the last year’s records, and the various divisions of the firm include Chrysler, Mopar, Dodge, ENVI, Chrysler Financial, Jeep, while the Chrysler Canada, GEM and Chrysler Australia are its subsidiaries. In August, 2007, under the ownership of Cerberus, the brand was named as the new Chrysler Group Robert Nardelli became the Chairman and CEO of Chrysler Group and several business activities took place alongside. The official logo as well as the website of the company was updated and it seemed that the company will get a new life. However in October 2008, it appeared as though they couldn’t continue the operations any further, and perhaps they would have to file for a Bankruptcy case and stop all the business activities for good. But just when everyone though it was the end of Chrysler, President Bush came as the saviour announcing a $13.4 billion rescue loan for the American automakers. As a result, the company could sustain its business operations, and are now expecting some level of profits this year. As the production and sales continue, the faithful Chrysler customers have again started ordering for the cars, while some of them are still sceptical about putting their money on a company, which is on the verge of bankruptcy. As the company has been facing financial crisis, recently the White House announced they would render $6 billions supporting the Chrysler contingent further, as the company is deciding upon an alliance with Fiat by this month end. The financial conditions of the company are supposed to improve as a result of all these activities that have taken place in last 6 months.
