Founded by August Horch on April 25, 1910 in Zwickau, Germany, Audi is currently a subsidiary group of the Volkswagen Group. With head-quarters located at Ingolstadt, Germany, the company operates at several locations across the globe. It has production centres at Ingolstadt & Neckarsulm in Germany, Gy?r; in Hungary, Brussels in Belgium, Curitiba in Brazil, Changchun in China, and Aurangabad located in India. The history of the company is somewhat mysterious and involves many disputes as the founder August Horch pursued operations since 1899, and the first-ever Horch automobile was released in the year 1901 at Zwickau. However, in 1909, he was pushed out of his own company and had to start afresh in Zwickau, while continuing with the same brand. This created more disputes and he got sued by his former partners for trademark infringement. As per the decision of a German court, Horch brand was declared to be owned by his former company, and later he founded the Audi brand in the year 1910. It was taken over by Volkswagen Group in the year 1964. The key people involved in the current business activities of the company include Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the Board of Management, as well as Martin Winterkorn who happens to be the Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Volkswagen AG.
